A target tells Bow how much an envelope needs and when. Bow uses targets to work out what to fund, and Fund All Needs fills them.

Set a target

Open an envelope and tap Set Target, or Your Target once it has one. Choose a type:

Scheduled transactions count too

Scheduled transactions with an envelope count toward its target, even if you haven’t set one of your own. The envelope shows them as Scheduled Transactions, with Your Target under them.
  • With Refill up to and Maintain balance, scheduled transactions are part of your target, so Bow asks for the larger amount.
  • With Set aside and One-time, your target is added on top.
Yearly bills are spread across the months before they’re due. To add one, open the envelope, tap More and choose Add Scheduled Transaction.

See progress

Open an envelope to see its target at a glance. A ring shows how much of this month’s amount is assigned, with what to assign to stay on track. Below it you’ll see what’s needed this month, what’s assigned so far and what’s left to go, then the parts of the target: Scheduled Transactions and Your Target.

Snooze for a month

Not this month? Open the envelope and turn on Snooze for the month you’re viewing, under Your Target. Or touch and hold the envelope on Budget and choose Snooze Target. A snoozed target asks for nothing that month, so the envelope doesn’t show as underfunded, and it’s back the next month. Snoozing pauses scheduled transactions too, and works on envelopes that only have scheduled transactions.

Suggestions

Bow can suggest targets from your last six months of spending, once you have at least three full months. Turn on Target Suggestions in Settings › Apple Intelligence (Suggestions & Search on iPhones without it). Suggestions come from your spending, not Apple Intelligence. They appear on the envelope and under Target Suggestions on Budget, and nothing changes until you save one.
