You don’t need Apple Intelligence to use Bow. Budgeting works the same without it, and iPhones without it don’t show these buttons.
On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Bow can fill in transactions for you and search your spending in your own words. Apple Intelligence does the reading on your iPhone. Bow uses only Apple’s own frameworks, with no third-party models or servers.

Fill In with Bow

When you add an expense or inflow, tap ✨ next to Add, then choose how to fill it in:

Scan a receipt

Point your camera at a paper receipt. The receipt is kept as the transaction’s photo.

Choose a photo

Pick a receipt or screenshot from Photos.

Speak

Say what you bought, out loud.

Describe

Type it in your own words, like “McDonald’s 12.40 from Fast Food”.
Bow fills in the transaction sheet and you check everything before it’s added. It never saves on its own.

Shared to Bow

Share receipts and order emails to Bow from any app and choose Add to Bow. They wait at the top of Spending under Shared to Bow until you review them. With Apple Intelligence, Bow fills in the details; without it, you fill them in. You can also send purchase alerts from your bank’s app. See Bank notifications.

Ask about your spending

Ask Siri questions like “How much did I spend on takeout last month?” or “Am I overspent anywhere?”. See Siri and Shortcuts. The numbers in every answer come from Bow’s own calculations, never from the model.
