Bank sync adds what it can sort on its own. The rest shows up in Spending like any other transaction, with the envelope Bow suggests. A blue dot by the amount means it’s not approved yet. It already counts in your account’s balance, since your bank has it. If Bow has no envelope to suggest, the row says No envelope. Until you choose one, spending from a bank account comes out of Ready to Assign, and a card charge only adds to what you owe.

One at a time

Tap a transaction to open it. Check the payee, envelope and date, then tap Approve. If you already entered a transaction for the same amount, Bow matches them so it’s only counted once; tap Match Details to check or undo the match.

Faster

Swipe right on a transaction and tap Approve, or touch and hold it and choose Approve. This works when there’s nothing to decide:
  • Bow has an envelope to suggest, or it’s money coming in, which goes to Ready to Assign.
  • It doesn’t look like a transfer.
  • There’s no possible match.
Everything else, open to approve. After approving this way, tap Undo on the message at the bottom to put it back. If an envelope ends up overspent, the message says so.

Two copies of one transaction

If you entered something and the bank’s copy didn’t match it, say because a tip changed the amount or you typed it differently, open the bank transaction and tap Match with Entry, then choose yours. Your entry keeps its payee, envelope and notes, and takes the amount your bank posted. If you’ve already approved the bank’s copy, open your entry and tap Match with Bank Transaction instead. The bank’s copy is removed, and Undo puts it back.

Not a real purchase

Swipe left and tap Ignore for anything that shouldn’t be in your budget.
