# Face ID lock and privacy

> Lock Bow with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, choose when it locks, and hide amounts when other people can see your screen.

## Lock Bow

**1. Turn on the lock**

Go to Settings and turn on **Face ID Lock**. On an iPhone with Touch ID it's called **Touch ID Lock**, and without Face ID or Touch ID set up, **Passcode Lock**.

**2. Confirm**

Confirm with Face ID or your passcode.

**3. Choose when**

Under **Require**, choose **Immediately** or **After 1 Minute**.

Bow then asks to unlock when it opens and when you come back to it. If Face ID doesn't work, you can use your iPhone's passcode. While the lock is on, your budget is hidden in the app switcher.

Siri and Shortcuts can still add transactions and answer questions about your budget while Bow is locked.

Turning the lock off also asks for Face ID or your passcode. Your iPhone needs a passcode for the lock to work.

## Hide amounts

To share your screen without showing your numbers, turn on **Hide Amounts** in Settings. Bow shows dots instead of amounts, in the app and its notifications. Amounts you type stay visible.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Siri's answers still say the amounts.
